Gareth has a first-class honours degree in Business Studies from the Ashcroft Business School in Cambridge.
Before setting up April Homes he studied for the NFOPP “technical award in estate agency in the sale of residential property”. He has spoken extensively to both buyers and vendors about what they want from a modern estate agency practice.
A former chorister at St Edmundsbury Cathedral in Bury St Edmunds, Gareth has an eclectic taste in music from heavy rock to the classics. He recently sang the part of the Usher in Gilbert and Sullivan’s “Trial by Jury”, before attending a concert by American hard rock band, “Ugly Kid Joe”. Pass the ear plugs…
Gareth’s sister, Helene, is also a partner in the business and brings a wealth of experience in mortgage advice and property purchase. She holds the Mortgage Advisers Qualification, the Financial Planning Certificate and has a diploma from the Institute of Financial Planners.
Helene and her husband manage the local church choir in a village near Newmarket and she also acts as treasurer for her local churches. Helene juggles her work with looking after the most important member of the team, her young daughter Grace.

Mervyn’s experience of the property market goes back to 1975. He is an Independent Financial Adviser and holds the Mortgage Advisers Qualification, the Financial Planning Certificate and has a diploma from the Institute of Financial Planners.
Mervyn is very involved in charity fundraising, including organising the St. Edmundsbury Cathedral Charity Christmas Fair.
He is passionate about helping people achieve their financial dreams, in particular buying their first home. When he is not working he spends his time waging war on the weeds in his garden.
James is a qualified mortgage and property adviser. As an accomplished horseman and showjumper, he has a keen interest in country and equestrian properties.
A former member of the Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery, James has served in Iraq, Bosnia and other parts of the globe.
